Abilities: Sunako is an amazing cook, pianist, fighter and she’s very intelligent (except where math is concerned.) She has defeated an entire gang of men twice her size in the series and can take down just about anybody as long as she isn’t distracted by their beauty. She also seems to have some supernatural ability to wither flowers when she’s upset or break all the lights in the vicinity when she’s angry. Whether or not she is doing those things or it’s just coincidence is never made clear. History: In middle school, Sunako approached a boy that she had a crush on and confessed her love to him only to have him say “I don’t like ugly girls.” That event shattered her self confidence and prompted her to stop doing anything to improve her appearance, basically she let herself go and considered herself ugly. She starts collecting creepy and scary things, claiming that she is a creature of darkness and locks herself in her room all the time. She no longer tries to be feminine or make friends and she spends her time indulging in her morbid fascinations. Her rich aunt noticed this change and became very concerned, deciding to take action and make Sunako a lady like herself ( a wish Sunako expressed when she was younger). Auntie brought Sunako down from Hokkaido to live in one of her mansions while attending high school and bribed four beautiful boys with free rent if they could turn Sunako into a lady. The anime and manga mainly focus on the boys trying to change Sunako from a scary girl into a proper lady. False memories: Her childhood was generally the same, taking place in Elysium instead of Hokkaido. The only major change is instead of arriving at her aunt’s mansion to be greeted by four beautiful boys, Sunako enters the empty mansion and lives there on her own with occasional visits from who she thinks is her auntie. She never met Kyohei, Ranmaru, Takenaga or Yuki and has never been forced to learn how to be lady like from anyone other than her False Auntie. She attends high school alone, lives alone with all her creepy things, and occasionally feels like there’s something missing. |
